Pack with me: Makeup Organization
Today I wanted to share with you guys how I organize my makeup and makeup brushes. I didn't want to go into detail because most of the products are the same as I have used in the past, and I already talked about them in detail in another post. Here's the other post if you would like to read all the details and how I use the products. https://itstartedwithadanceshoe.blogspot.com/2017/05/whats-in-my-dance-makeup-kit.html

GRWM: Pampering Session for a dress rehearsal/dance recital
Hello, today I will be showing you what I do the night before a big dress rehearsal or recital. It is very important to take care of your skin before a big show because you're going to be under big bright lights and cameras. If you would like to see how I prepare then just keep on reading.
THE NIGHT BEFORE:
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate:
It is extremely important to drink a lot of water the day before your big show because you need to be hydrated and prepared to be running around and sweating a lot. Also, I drink about 2 cups of spearmint tea per day about a month before because I feel it helps clear up my skin.
Skincare/Body Care:
I have tried many skincare routines because I used to have acne prone combination to oily skin, but recently my skin has been feeling really dry so I had to come up with a new skincare routine, and I think I have found one that works for me.
Remove Makeup: I like to remove my makeup right before I shower. I like to use the apiece Aloe Vera cleansing wipes then I go in with the Tatcha Pure one step camellia cleansing oil because it doesn't dry out my skin and it feels really clean after I use it.
Shower: I like to shower the night before so that I'm not running around trying to shower the day of the show. I like to wash my hair with the OGX Coconut milk shampoo. I only use shampoo that day because my hair is very slippery, and my hair cannot be slippery for the show because I need to put a lot of headpieces and they need to stay. Then I use the Dove pomegranate bar soap for my body. It smells really nice, and its feels nice on my skin. To shave my legs I like to use the Cetaphil cleanser and the Venus spa razor because they make my skin feel nice and smooth.
Body Care: After I shower I need to moisturize my skin as soon as possible. I suffer from eczema so my skin can get extremely dry and itchy. I need to use creams that don't have any scents and are thick enough to keep my skin hydrated. My all time favorite cream is the Cetaphil moisturizing cream. I have been using it for many years, and it really helps control my dry skin.
Scrub: I like to exfoliate my skin with some lemon juice and sugar. This makes my skin super smooth and removes all of my dead skin. It makes my skin feel really clean, and also helps brighten any dull areas of my face.
Mask: For a mask I love to use honey and then I take a flaxseed oil supplement as well as a vitamin E oil supplement, and puncture them so that I can mix them with the honey. I leave it on for about 30 minutes, and when I rinse it off I feel really nice and soft.
Moisturizer: To moisturize my skin I just mix the vitamin E oil and flaxseed oil together, and apply it all over my skin.
Wax/Tweeze/Shave: For my eyebrows I make sure to tweeze them and wax them the night before so that I don't have any red bumps in the morning. I also wax my upper lip, and shave my legs. If you have never waxed before make sure you go to a professional because if you do it yourself you may do it wrong and the day of the show you will not look as flawless as you expected.
Nails: For my dance group we are required to do our nails red so I make sure that I do my toenails and hand nails. My favorite nail polish to use is the O.P.I The Thrill of Brazil because its a true red color and it doesn't chip like other nail polishes out there.
THE DAY OF:
The day of the show can be a little hectic with trying to get everything ready and in the car, but I think I've got a pretty good routine down so that my skin is well prepped before make up.
Hydrate: I also drink a lot of water the morning of the show, but I make sure not to drink too much right before because there won't be any bathroom breaks for a while.
Cleanse: The day of the show I wash my face with the same honey mask I used the night before.
Tone: As a toner I use the Tatcha Essence Water. I like it because it's not drying on my face so its perfect.
Serum: As a serum I like to use the Tatcha Camelia Oil because it keeps the dry areas away and it doesn't break me out.
Moisturizer: For moisturizer I like to use the Tatcha water cream because it is hydrating and it is also an anti-wrinkle cream, and the First Aid Beauty for dry patches that I may have.
Once I finish all of these steps, and am ready for makeup. If you would like to see how I apply my makeup just leave a comment, and I will make sure I make a video on it. Hope you enjoyed this post.

My favorite lashes to use for dance
Hello, I am back and ready for some more blog posts. As you all know I have my big recital every year around this time, and it can get quite hectic. Right now, I am trying to pack everything so I don't forget anything, and I was looking through my eyelashes, and since I have a couple I thought I would share what type of lashes I wear according to what type of performance I will be going to. If you want to know which ones have become my favorites through the years then just keep on reading.
For Small Shows:
For small shows such as birthday parties, church events, or fairs I like to wear lashes that are not as long as I would wear for a big recital.
My favorite pair to wear is the Ardell 204 Black lashes. These are great because they look like they are doubled up so they add length and fullness to your regular lashes. They can be a bit tricky to put on because they are so thick, but once you get the hang of it they are pretty easy. I love these because they just look really great and perfect when you have to wear a lot of make up, but aren't necessarily going to be under big lights.

My second favorite pair the Ardell 105 Black lashes. These are great for people that have a hard time putting lashes on. They are very easy to use and aren't heavy at all. They are quite thin so they don't add a lot of volume, but they do add a nice length. These are more of a subtle look, but look great when you have a good amount of makeup on.

For Big Shows:
For big shows such as my recital requires a lot more makeup therefore our eyelashes have to be more dramatic.
The lashes I use for my big show are the Sassi Maiasa 101 lashes. Add drama, length, and fullness to your eyes. These are great when you are under bright lights because those lights can really take away color, and really make you look pale.
I hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful when you are looking for lashes to wear on your next performance. If you would like to see a specific type of post just leave a comment below and let me know.
